ORSANMICHELE: ORNAMETAL GRACE

This mini collection is submitted for the Eighth Edition of Giuliacarla Cecchi International Competition, and is inspired by the motifs of the exterior ornamentals of Orsanmichele Church, one of the famous architectural churches in Florence, Italy. Also, zero waste idea of the textile manipulation has been incorporated into these designs.

I found it interesting how its Gothic tracery has decorative branching lines and I wanted to incorporate with the rings of the crest on the facade made by an Italian sculptor, Luca della Robbia, which I translated them with lasercut techniques. Mostly inspired from the Florence Cathedral, only two colors are focused in this collection to deliver the warm essence of Florence.
